
Patch 1.4
Patch 1.4 is here! This update brings the arrival of our latest DLC, an upgraded Photo Mode with expanded settings, and a host of fixes and improvements across quests, combat, UI, and more. And most importantly - Henry has finally been re-taught how to cook eggs.
Features
Animals
- Loading the game no longer occasionally causes animals to flee.
Balancing
- Changed the Infantryman polearm perk: It now adds +5 polearm weapon skill when wielding a polearm in combat and reduces enemy defense, making them less likely to perfect block, riposte or execute master strikes.
- Halberds are now almost twice as durable.
- Henry has been re-taught how to cook eggs.
- Increased the time it takes for alcoholic drinks to spoil.
- Increased the quality of the Trollbane hammer.
- Leek and Parsnip now have stats and an icon.
- Slightly increased plate gauntlet selection in Kuttenberg shops with a few also added into the open world.
- Slightly nerfed stats of the Brunswick set and other Twitch/PROS items.
- Standardised icons of some food items.
Blacksmithing
- Improved alignment at smithy anvils.
Codex
- Fixed missing Smelters codex page.
Combat
- All polearm combos now require only three moves.
- Fixed rotating enemy scabbards.
- Fixed walking animation while charging an attack with a polearm.
Crime
- Added sounds for indulgence payment.
- Corrected arrest dialogue.
- Each spoonful of food stolen from a kettle is now reflected in the final amount.
- Items stolen with the Thief's Eye perk are not confiscated outside of their location of origin.
- Looting or killing bandits is no longer listed as a crime.
- Pursuing guards now investigate in a better direction.
- The player is no longer accused of committing the same theft twice after passing a skillcheck and keeping the item.
Daily life
- Adjusted the scribe's table in Troskowitz.
- Improved NPC navigation around chicken coops.
- Improved settling in Bylany.
- Improved settling in Rabstein.
- Fewer drunken NPCs now wander around Kuttenberg.
- The player can now open the door of the rented room at the Emperor Charles Tavern in Kuttenberg.
Dialogues
- Fixed passerby NPCs colliding with player during dialogues.
Dice
- Fixed error when giving up in a dice game while the opponent was scoring.
- Fixed probability of values thrown with Saint Antiochus' die.
Environment
- Fixed player getting stuck in multiple locations in Grunta, Trosky, Suchdol, Maleshov and other locations.
- Fixed terrain alignment at the smithy anvil in Devil's Den.
- Fixed water barrier in Kerchak pond.
- Horse can no longer enter Bozena’s alchemy hut.
Fast travel
- Added new fast travel point near Sigismund's camp.
Horse riding
- Fixed horse capsule breaking after multiple collisions.
- Fixed conflict between autopilot and focus camera, which caused choppy camera movement.
- Fixed horses sliding when colliding with certain obstacles.
Horse trading
- Extended the period during which a stolen horse remains in the sales area at a horse handler's.
Mutt
- Fixed timers related to marking objectives for your dog.
PROS
- Item stats for the Warhorse purpoint and the Cutpurse's gambeson are no longer switched.
- Polished and updated the model of Patron's coat.
Photo mode
- Added a menu with expanded configuration options (effects, camera settings, day/time settings, precision controls, etc.).
- Photo mode action keys can now be overridden in keybinding settings.
- Photo mode is no longer blurry when drunk.
- Visual effects of the Dollmaker poison no longer persist in photo mode.
Random events
- Adjusted a caravan spawn point near Troskowitz.
- Bandits now attack the player if standing nearby.
- Fixed event horses not reacting to damage when their rider is dead.
- Henry can now surrender in the pillory random event while standing near the pillory NPC.
- Henry is no longer charged for murdering a fleeing prisoner killed by guards in the pillory event.
- Prisoners in the pillory now react to being hit by a pebble.
Rented rooms
- Fixed issue with inaccessible but paid rented room after level switch.
- Trespass will not be triggered if the player stays longer than they paid for.
Reputation
- Fixed indulgence box lowering player's reputation.
Shield painting
- Fixed an issue where a symbol was not unlocked upon earning the An Old Friend achievement.
Shop
- Fixed inability to add the first highlighted item to the basket immediately after opening a shop
Skills & perks
- Adjusted buff icon of the Belligerent Brawler perk.
- Improved UI notification when gaining hidden perks.
- Slightly lowered the boosted stats of Pebbles and Herring from Good old Pebbles and Red Herring perks.
Takedowns
- NPCs no longer draw weapons if the player is already performing a knockout or stealth kill animation.
Tutorials
- Opponents now start practice fights in defense.
UI
- Implemented UI adaptability (UI elements are now shown only when relevant); can be toggled in options.
- Controller haptics no longer react to NPCs using mortar and pestle.
- Fixed craftsmanship level information when wearing items that provide a craftsmanship buff.
- Improved UI navigation on ultrawide screens.
- Improved controller feedback while Henry's stamina is low.
- It is now possible to select multiple items for drying in the smokehouse.
- New font implemented for traditional Chinese.
- Added a pop-up window for when the player's pool of saved games is full and using Saviour Schnapps would override the oldest save.
- Quick access menu action keys can now be overridden in keybinding settings.
- Removed the New Game button from the menu after death to prevent accidental playline overwriting.
- Scrolling in the journal no longer moves the map when using controller.
- After closing the Help screen with the mouse, the player can now choose any dialogue line they wish.
- Tutorial buttons are now displayed when starting a new game with a mouse and opening the inventory with a controller.

- Fixed NPC clothing physics while riding horses.
- Minor improvements in the detail and visual quality of certain clothing items.
Miscellaneous
- Fixed the interactive hare skin item.
- Improved drunken guard animations.
- Improved NPC movement through difficult terrain.
- Players can now re-equip their gear the first time they open the inventory after it was changed involuntarily (e.g. by quests, baths, etc.).
- Removed an obsolete item in the Nebakov Mill.

Ars Dimicatoria
- Adjusted placement of quest NPCs during the tourney, when not fighting.
- Adjusted the barrier during the tourney.
- Fixed issue with Menhard and Arne drinking from duplicated tankards during a tavern dialogue.
- Fixed an issue where Arne could not be taken as reinforcements in the quest Ransom, after successful completion of the quest.
- Fixed an issue where an open world NPC could sit on Menhart's chair, preventing a quest dialogue from starting.
- Fixed an issue where the player would not be healed when entering the tourney, despite Menhard saying so.
- Fixed an issue where preventing Arne from entering his duel during the tourney could cause the quest to stick.
- Fixed delayed behaviour of Menhard and Arne going to the tavern after starting the quest.
Back in the Saddle
- Henry now sits next to Klara during the entire dialogue.

- Improved NPC reactions to crime after the player helps them.

- Fixed Cumans attacking Posy too early, before finishing the attack plan dialogue.

- Added rewards for the player after speaking with Hans Capon.
Brunswick
- Brunswick's coif is no longer shown while reading.
- Fixed multiple environment issues.
- Fixed colision of Pray and Open interactors on the third treasure.
Canker
- Friendly NPCs now help fight the monk's crew and no longer report the player to the guards.
Civitas Pragensis
- Fixed an edge case of NPCs and horses teleporting incorrectly.
- Infinite fader no longer occurs at the end of the Italian Job main quest.
- Polished dialog animations with Erik.
Combat Training
- The player can now leave the pen area after getting dressed in Tomcat's clothes before the training starts.
- Tomcat no longer fines Henry for assaulting him after completing the masterstrike tutorial.
Combat
- Fixed transition between animations when holding a polearm and throwing stones.
Damsel in Distress
- Fixed an issue where all loot in the mill would be free while the inhabitants were temporarily missing.
- Fixed an issue where the mill inhabitants did not reappear after denying help to the women in the shed.
Dancing with the Devil
- Added colision at the Maleshov stables roof.
- Improved balancing in the Maleshov tower through opponent stats and armour.
- Fixed issue with the Hardbought Mercy achievement.
- Improved music in the planning polylogue.
- Improved navmesh at Malesov.
- Quest now progresses normally after the archers are dealt with.
- Zizka now wakes up after falling unconscious and the quest can progress as intended.
Divine Messenger
- Enemy soldiers are no longer immortal.
- Zizka is now always present in the final dialogue.
Dragon's Lair
- Fixed the soldiers leaving during the second round of fighting.
Easy Riders
- Fixed Hans walking off into the sunset if player ran through the reeds and hit the washerwoman.
- Fixed a tight spot in the rock maze where players could get stuck.

- Paskal now has proper dialogue options at all points during the activity.
Exodus
- Fixed NPCs getting stuck without behaviours during the attack on the backyards.
- Fixed an issue where ceratin NPCs would be present at the end of the quest even though player left them behind.
- Fixed improper hit reactions from attackers on the wall.
- Fixed various spots where player could jump out of the quest area.
- Improved overall music design during the quest.
- Improved reaction times of the enemies in the tavern.
For Victory!
- Fixed an animation of Ulrich dying, that could potentionally fail to trigger.
- Fixed animations of NPCs sitting during the feast.
- Fixed collisions near the barricade during the battle.
- Fixed consistency when completing the objectives related to looting of the blacksmith's chest.
- Fixed multiple small inconsistencies between subtitlles and voice over in English.
- Fixed objective marker pointing to dead Osina.
- Fixed player being able to give Capon weapon/armor multiple times.
- Improved balance of the duel: Zizka takes more damage when hit in the head, but is slightly stronger in combat overall. Zizka is even stronger in hardcore mode.
- Improved bandit behaviour during the quest.
- Killing soldiers is now counted as enemies killed, not civilians killed.
- The player can no longer leave the area of the main fight during the quest.
Forbidden Fruit
- Quest markers and objectives now consistently indicate the correct area.
- Scribe Gaibl now provides clues to help finding saltpetre if Gravedigger's objectives are failed.
- Using Mutt to attack an NPC during the quest will now cause the quest to fail.
Fortuna
- Bandit no longer runs away calling for guards.
- Henry cannot open the alchemy inventory until he receives the objective to do so.
Frogs
- Improved NPC reactions to being seen spicing up Alshik's snack.
Handsome Charlie
- The charcoal burners no longer attack Henry after the quest is finished.
High Toll
- Fixed an issue where the player could break the quest by luring the soldiers outside their camp.
Hunger and Despair
- Allies are no longer beaten to death while trying to take halberds.
- Fixed Capon being half naked in the first cutscene.
- Fixed allies not attacking the enemies right away.
- Fixed issue with several people not sitting in the after battle polylogue.
- Fixed the fire in the first cutscene.
- Fixed the theatre background during battle.
- Fixed the wounded soldier who was stuck underground.
- It is now possible to give the stray dog meat to Devil even if Henry didn't agree.
- Polished the shooters under the ramparts during battle.
- Removed a possibility that Henry will overeat himself on found food.
In Vino Veritas
- Balanced score for weed picking for the Under The Straw Hat activity.
- Fixed a wrong voiceline in the dialogue with Havel.
- Fixed failure conditions for the Under the Straw Hat activity after Jeronym’s death.
- Removed redundant trespass area on the vineyard.
Into the Underworld
- Goatskin no longer disappears from the map if you load an older save.
- Henry's line is no longer skipped when asking about Kunzlin.
- Path to the secret room is accessible to Henry and all NPCs.
Invaders
- Fixed Cumans using swords in the fist fight.
- Fixed the end of the fist fight with Cumans and related objectives, so the Cumans no longer attack the whole village.
- Fixed quest failing after the player helps Jasak and wants to talk to Vasko.
- Fixed the Cumans just hanging around after the quest is completed.
Judgment Day
- Fixed Hanush and company not moving if the player distanced himself from them while leaving.
- Improved multiple animation and environmental issues.
- Fixed initials on the reforged sword.
- Fixed incorrect item counts which were created at times.
Kuttenberg Tournament
- Adjusted when the quest ends and when the tournament disappears at the end of the event.
- Fans no longer react to player injury with unrelated open-world reactions.
- Fixed an issue where the Master did not react correctly to the player’s first tourney attendance if they left at the start.
- Fixed an issue wh/ere non-participating fighters would randomly stand behind those attending.
- Fixed an issue where the player could potentially die during a tourney fight.
- Fixed an issue preventing the player entry into the arena after arriving late.
- Fixed an issue where the end of the player's fight would duplicate bandages in the inventory.
- Fixed an issue where the use of long timeskips would not affect tourney behaviours accordingly.
- Fixed an issue where timeskip would rarely end when the player is supposed to attend another fight.

- Fixed dialogue repetition when talking to Drat.
- Fixed quest failing when a save is loaded from a different part of the quest or after finishing the main story line.
- Fixed quest updating after quest fails.
- Fixed remaining active quest marker after quest fails.
- Mikush can no longer be killed or knocked out before the polylogue at the door.
- Next objective now appears upon leaving the area upon making the quest NPC to surrender.
The Hermit
- All active objectives are now aborted once the quest fails.
- Fixed multiple objectives throughout the quest.
- Fixed quest journal entries.
- Improved crime reactions during the quest fight.
- Knights no longer attack the player.
- Konrad no longer attacks the player during or right after timeskip.
- Konrad no longer reacts as a crime witness during the incident

The Lion's Den
- Added Victory screen when killing a large number of soldiers in Sigismund's camp.

The Magic Arrow
- Adjusted dialogue reputation changes.
The Mouth of Hell
- Crime indicator no longer remains indefinately on the screen after knocking out Taras Mura.
- The NPCs will no longer attack the player after paying compensation, or after passing a skillcheck.
- The dead cows no longer stand up after fast traveling and skipping time.
- The quest can be now started by talking to the priest.
- The quest will now fail if Henry kills one of the villagers during the fight.
The Peasant Revolt
- Fixed an issue where certain objectives wouldn't properly fail during quest NPCs death.
The Spark
- Balanced the reward which is given at the beginning of the quest with the previous one.
- Fixed issue with Henry being teleported to conversation with Goliath after loading any save.
- Fixed issue with the fire still burning and miners just standing in the way after the explosion.
- Fixed issue with miners trying to go into the collapsed mine.
- Fixed lights in the mine.
- Fixed the endlessly mourning NPC.
- Improved NPCs behaviour when Whisker comes for reinforcements.
The Stalker
- Fixed "New quest" icon still being active on Katherine after accepting her quest.
The Sword and the Quill
- Photo mode no longer stops the in-game dialogue from initiating.
The Thieves' Code
- Fixed remaining quest marker when the dialogue with Hog ends.
- Fixed trespass in front of the Greaser's house.
The Thunderstone
- Adjusted quality of the Ramhead mace so it now drops in higher quality significantly more often.
Tragedy in Danemark
- Fixed an issue where the miller's family wouldn't flee accordingly if a bandit reached them in the attic.
Troubadours
- NPC hands no longer clip through the table while talking and sitting at the table.
Via Argentum
- Christian no longer mentions making a deal with Buresh under specific conditions.
- Fixed final dialog logic.
- Henry no longer starts a confrontation with Hermann from the start.
- Improved lighting in Horschan's mines.
- Responding to guard barks from a distance doesn't display debug lines.
Victimised
- Fixed an issue where a prompt without text would appear if the player strayed too far while following Margaret.
Wedding Crashers
- Added a journal entry if Kreyzl died.
- Fixed conditions for betting on duelists.
- Fixed conditions for other quest dialogues during the wedding.
- Fixed unfocused camera in polylogue with Lord Capon and the concubine.
- Removed blood from NPC after duel before the wedding ceremony cutscene.
- Reputation of the player in the whole region does not dramatically drop when entering the wedding with the concubine.
