Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is going down to South Park as part of an exclusive new range of co-branded, downloadable video games called Who Wants to be a Milionaire?: Special Editions. The new game, based on the world’s most successful game show, launches via the PlayStation®Store and the Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on 23rd November, 2011.
The first game pack, developed in collaboration with South Park Digital Studios, is based on the Emmy® And Peabody® Award-Winning Series South Park. It will launch at the same time as the main Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?: Special Editions main game. South Park fans around the world can look forward to hundreds of specific questions based on the South Park universe, set in a fully themed Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? studio and featuring an original South Park introduction.
The Millionaire set, host, audience - including main South Park characters - lifelines and contestants are all themed around the classic animated series.
The pack also includes five player avatars, especially designed by South Park, alongside more than 600 questions taken from across all 15 seasons of the show. Even the Phone-A-Friend lifeline features characters from the South Park world - but can you really trust Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo to give you the right answer?
The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?: Special Editions retain all the excitement and atmosphere of the original programme.
Contestants participate in the fastest finger round and then scale a mountain of questions in the quest for that elusive virtual million, making judicious use of the three classic lifelines - Fifty-Fifty, Ask The Audience, and Phone-A-Friend. It’s a social experience, too: up to four friends can compete locally to outdo each other, with each person’s score dependent on their speed.
But the standout feature of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?: Special Editions is the introduction of special licensed question packs featuring the biggest names from movies, TV and much more, all of which will be made available as DLC to bolt on to the main game.
In addition to the launch of South Park – Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Special Edition and the main game, a movie theme pack (Who Wants To Be A Movie Millionaire?) will launch on 23rd November followed by a host of other game packs, themed around well known characters, brands and themes.
